What is Black Oxygen Organics?

Black Oxygen Organics is a privately owned company founded by Marc Saint-Onge. The company sells wellness products that contain fulvic acid.

Black Oxygen Organics claims they are:

“the missing link to optimal health”

and that their products will lead to “Better Health, Performance, Productivity & much more.”

What Does Black Oxygen Organics Sell?

At present, Black Oxygen Organics sells three products:

Black Oxygen Tabs – tablets containing fulvic acid, sodium bicarbonate, and orange essential oil

Black Oxygen Powder – loose fulvic acid

Black Oxygen Coffee – fulvic mineral-infused coffee

The main ingredient and the “selling point” of all of Black Oxygen Organics products is fulvic acid. But what exactly IS fulvic acid?

What is Fulvic Acid?

Fulvic acid is a chemical substance that is formed when plants and animals decompose. It is found in soil, peat and the sediments found in streams, lakes and ocean water.

In other words, fulvic acid is essentially dirt that contains the decomposing bodies of animals and rotting plants.

Is Fulvic Acid Safe to Consume?

According to RX List, fulvic acid is “possibly safe” to consume or use on the skin. (1)

There are many things that are “possibly safe” to consume or rub on your skin – urine is safe to drink in the short term and it’s unlikely anyone has died from rubbing rotting fish guts on their skin.

But does that make it a good idea or beneficial? No.

Black Oxygen Organics History – Who Are They?

Black Oxygen Organics was founded by Canadian Marc Saint-Onge, who was inspired by European mud baths. After discovering a rich source of fulvic acid in the Ottawa Valley, not far from his home, he embarked upon the journey of creating Black Oxygen Organics.

According to his Linkedin profile, Marc Saint-Onge has long been involved in sales and the “mud” industry – in 1986 he founded a company called “Golden Moor” that exported mud around the world.

Black Oxygen Organics Compensation Plan

If you’re thinking of joining Black Oxygen Organics as a distributor, then you’re probably interested in learning more about the Black Oxygen Organics compensation plan.

Black Oxygen Organics refers to their compensation plan as “Simple One Page Pay Plan”, however, it’s similar to how all multi-level marketing compensation plans are structured (i.e. it’s no less complicated, it’s just condensed down to one page.)

Pictured below is the Black Oxygen Organics compensation plan.

When you join Black Oxygen Organics, you start as “Brand Partner.”

From there, there are a number of ranks you can progress through. Those are:

  • Brand Partner
  • Director
  • Gold Director
  • Platinum Director
  • Diamond Director
  • CEO
  • Gold CEO
  • Platinum CEO
  • Diamond CEO
  • Royal Diamond CEO

These sorts of titles are common in multi-level marketing companies. Psychologically, they sound aspirational – who doesn’t want to be awarded the title of “Royal Diamond CEO”, right?

However, according to Oxford Languages the definition of CEO is:

“a chief executive officer, the highest-ranking person in a company or other institution, ultimately responsible for taking managerial decisions.”

The actual CEO of Black Oxygen Organics is Marc Saint-Onge, so these titles are courtesy titles (i.e. they don’t mean you are suddenly the CEO of BOO.)

As a Brand Partner, you receive 25% commission on all customer orders, which is fairly standard in the MLM world.

And like all MLM companies, there are a whole host of bonuses that are awarded when you start building your downline (i.e. recruiting others into the company.)

Black Oxygen Organics currently offers the following bonuses, all with varying requirements:

  • Generation Fast Start Bonus
  • Director Fast Track Bonus
  • Triple Advancement Bonus
  • Two Team Volume Commission
  • Matching Team Bonuses
  • Rank Advancement Bonus
  • Monthly Business Builder Bonus

As with all MLM companies, building a team of distributors with Black Oxygen Organics allows you to earn commissions on the sales of your downline, along with various bonuses. This is why people who join multi-level marketing companies often aggressively try to recruit others into the company.

How Much Does it Cost to Join Black Oxygen Organics?

It costs $110 – $1845 to become a Black Oxygen Organics distributor.

There are currently 6 starter packs to choose from, including:

Partner Pack – Tablets: $110, includes 1 package of Black Oxygen tablets

Partner Pack – Powder: $110, includes 1 package of Black Oxygen powder

There is no mention on the Black Oxygen Organics website of any recurring fees, but it’s worth noting that the majority of MLM’s have purchase requirements to “stay active” and personal sales requirements to move through the ranks.

Is Black Oxygen Organics a Pyramid Scheme?

Black Oxygen Organics is a multi-level marketing company, and while it does have several characteristics similar to pyramid schemes, it is not a pyramid scheme.

According to Investopedia, multi-level marketing (the banner under which Black Oxygen Organics falls) is a legal business practice as it involves the sale of tangible goods. (2)

However, don’t confuse “not a pyramid scheme” with “profitable business opportunity.”

How Much Money Can You Make as a Black Oxygen Organics Distributor?

99% of people who join a multi-level marketing company lose money.

The Federal Trade Commission published a study on MLM companies. Here are some direct quotes from the study:

“…MLM as a business model – with its endless chain of recruitment of participants as primary customers – is flawed, unfair, and deceptive.”

“…the vast majority of commissions paid by MLM companies go to a tiny percentage of TOPPs (top-of-the-pyramid promoters) at the expense of a revolving door of recruits, 99% of whom lose money.” (3)

If you have a massive network or a huge social media following that loves buying wellness products, then there may be an opportunity for you to make money with Black Oxygen Organics.

However, like all multi-level marketing companies, the real money comes with adding people to your downline. If you’re not comfortable with signing people underneath you knowing that 99% of them will lose money, then becoming a Black Oxygen Organics distributor (or joining any MLM) probably isn’t for you.

Should You Join Black Oxygen Organics?

It’s my opinion that no, you should not join Black Oxygen Organics or any multi-level marketing company.

As mentioned above, 99% of people who join an MLM lose money. And even if you’re one of the 1% who gets in at the beginning and manages to turn a profit, you need to think carefully if you’re ok with encouraging people to join up underneath you when the VAST majority will lose money.

Final Thoughts

The jury is out on the health benefits of fulvic acid. However, it’s clear that multi-level marketing isn’t the profitable business opportunity that current distributors claim it to be.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, especially when I know how hyped up and excited many people get at the prospect of financial freedom and running their own business from home.

But my opinion is that there are much better ways to make money from home that don’t involve pestering family and friends to purchase products they may not want and asking them to join your downline.
